February 22, 2007
Agostini/Bacon Construction, Inc. announced this morning they have awarded Ernest Guigli & Sons, Inc. the site contract work for both the Colonel Bell and Quincy Street schools in Brockton, Massachusetts. Both schools, which will break ground next week, reflect the state’s continued investment in revitalizing and creating new educational facilities across Massachusetts. The Colonel Bell and Quincy Street schools’ site package, valued at $4,600,000 consist of over 20 acres of land clearing, ledge removal, and an array of utilities and underground infrastructure required to support more than 2,000 students. Ernest Guigli & Sons, Inc. hopes to have both site packages at substantial completion by early 2008.
The Colonel Bell & Quincy Street Schools mark the second site contract awarded to Ernest Guigli & Sons by the Agostini/Bacon Companies since November 2005. Robert Guigli, president and C.E.O. of Ernest Guigli & Sons, Inc. is excited about the fully union project. “We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with Agostini/Bacon Construction on another municipal project,” says Robert, “we have enjoyed working with their firm at the Collicot-Cunningham Elementary School in Milton (Massachusetts) and look forward to using this project as an opportunity to build upon an already strong business relationship between two quality contractors.” These schools will be Guigli’s fifth and sixth public school projects within the past 18 months totaling $9.6M in earthwork; following the Collicot-Cunningham School in Milton ($3M), the Elizabeth Pole Elementary School in Taunton ($2.1M), the Jeremiah Burke High School renovation in Dorchester ($1.6M), and the Fitzgerald Elementary School in Waltham ($1.3M).
